The Treble Bell makes its final journey out of the Church

On Friday 16th September 2022, the treble bell which was given by Phillip Edward Sewell in 1910 made its final journey out of Buxton Church.

The bell is now on its way to the workshop, where we hope that the inscription ‘PHILIPPUS EDUARDUS SEWELL FILIUS ME DEDIT 1910‘ will be safely removed so that we can place the inscription in the church at the conclusion of the Platinum Jubilee Bell Project, so we have a lasting memory of this bell which has served Buxton for 112 years.

Once the bell arrived in the Village Hall car park, it provided us with an opportunity to take a picture of the inside of the bell. It is not often we have such an opportunity to view the inside of a bell in such detail.
