Ringing to mark the accession of King Charles III

On Saturday the 10th September 2022, the bells of Buxton Church rang out over the village, marking the proclamation at St James’s Palace in London of the accession of Charles III earlier in the day.

The ringers at Buxton were:

  1. Tim Curtis
  2. Morwenna Johns
  3. Anna Johns (Conductor)
  4. Richard Johns (Conductor)
  5. Kristopher Harper

The ringers rang a mixture of Rounds, Call changes, Firing, and 40 Plain Bob Doubles.

Note: The bell numbers reflect that the existing treble bell is out of action due to the crack.

A formal record of our ringing to mark the Proclamation of King Charles III has been recorded on BellBoard, which is run by The Ringing World, The weekly Journal for Church Bell Ringers since 1911
